"The journey has reached its end. But one must make the voyage home. The final chapter of the Ancestral Sword trilogy is the return journey: Dangers lurk on the southern roads, and the tragedies of recent turmoil are frequent across the scorched countryside. Yet, there is a sense of triumph and relief to this last outing.

These are songs for the weary traveler, medieval road songs that greatly expand on the minimal dungeon synth laid out on the first two Ancestral Sword tapes. The addition of atmospheric guitar and extended compositions creates an encompassing mood that culminates with the climactic closing piece “Amber Sunset” — an 11-minute dungeon doom epic.

The album was again recorded to Type II Super Avilyn high-bias formula tape on a Tascam Portastudio 414mkII. The tapes were professionally duplicated by National Audio Company." - SPR

One of my favorite dungeon synth albums, and I had only heard it a few days ago for the first time. Perfect for drifting off to sleep, but also for driving under the canopy of trees. It is very soft, and pleasant, yet vast at times. The ambient forest sounds are extremely soothing. A wonderful work of art that feels as refreshing as diving into the deeps of a natural, cold spring in the eves of summer. Bjorn
